Latin 06v
- ¶ Callidus hoc ictu percussi labia duro,
Expectans reparare[1] gravi cum cuspide vulnus.
¶ Consuetus mutare tamen, contraque referre
Cuspide pertenta, breve nunc moror omnia telo.
Italian
I've wounded you with the foot of my javelin, |
[34a-d] Cum lo pedalle t'o ferido dela ghiavarina |
I wait in this guard with my spear shortened: |
[15b-a] In questa guardia io speto cum curta lança |
English 06v
¶ I, the Clever One, thrust through the lips with the harsh strike,
expecting to renew the wound with the heavy spear point.
¶ Customarily, I move back and forth with the extended spear point,
But now I linger in all respects with my shortened spear.
- ↑ Added later: "reparer renouvelir".
