A martial arts instructor with a background in Asian and Filipino martial arts, I am very interested in all forms of the art of the blade. I have studied mainly Chinese broadsword, straight sword and double handed sword. In Filipino Kali I have studied under Guro Jeff Chung of ntkali.org in mainly the short knife, long knife, and short sword. I have recently been reading a lot of Richard Francis Burton's works, including the wonderful BOOK OF THE SWORD. I am particularly interested in Burton's analysis of Manchette and his swordplay derived from there.
