I started out as a HEMA practitioner in 2015, studying longsword at Athena School of Arms in Massachusetts. A while later I moved to the UK, and now I'm with the Medieval Combat Group in Belfast. My main weapons are longsword and messer. In terms of the sources, I mainly work with Lecküchner's Die Kunst des Messerfechtens; I find its level of detail very helpful for both messer and longsword techniques. I'm originally from Germany - even though I'm not a fluent speaker of medieval German, it does help quite a bit with interpreting the sources.
