Publication History
De re militari et de duello was printed in Naples in 1476-77 by Sixtus Riessinger; the Latin edition was reprinted in 1543 by Benedictum Bonnyn in Lyon, France.
Some time before 1518 it was translated into Italian, and several Italian editions were printed in Venice thereafter, including in 1518, 1521, 1523, 1540, and 1544.
Also in 1544, it was translated into Spanish and published in Seville, Spain under the title Libro llamado batalla de dos ("Book Called Battle of Two").
In ca. 1580, it was translated a third time, into English by Thomas Bedingfield; the translation is recorded in a manuscript entitled Questions of Honor and Arms (MS V.b.104), but doesn't seem to have ever been published.
Pozzo's treatise, sourced from the Italian version (probably one from the 1520s or 30s), was used by Achille Marozzo as the core of his own work on dueling, published as book 5 of his 1536 treatise Opera nova.
