Englishman Colin Hatcher, Esq. is by profession a trial attorney in Dallas, Texas, USA. He has been an active martial artist for 37 years and a martial arts instructor for over 20 years, during which time he has practiced many of the grappling arts (wrestling, aikido, judo, Japanese jujitsu, Brazilian jiu-jitsu), as well as kali/escrima and was International Director of training for the Alliance of Guardian Angels from 1989 to 1995, with responsibility for building and teaching that group's highly effective and reality tested "street-rules" martial arts programs.

He began his Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) arts study and practice with the Schola Saint George (SSG) in 1999 in California and was part of that school's first generation of students studying the martial art of Fiore de'i Liberi (Arte e Scientia d'Armizare). He became an instructor for the SSG and was a key contributor to the development of the SSG's grappling (Abrazare) and Dagger (Daga) curricula. He served as President of the SSG between 2011-2014.

In 2014 Colin left SSG to found his own HEMA school in Frisco, Texas, Accademia del Leone (Academy of the Lion), where he continues to research, study and teach Fiore’s Arte e Scientia d'Armizare, including Fiore’s spear, longsword, dagger, and grappling.
