Carlee Arnett (PhD University of Michigan) is a professor of German at the University of California, Davis. Some of her research focuses is on syntactic structures in historical Germanic languages. She has collected data from many historical Germanic languages on oblique subject constructions and auxiliary verbs. She is also interested in the historical development of 'es' in its various functions. Lastly, she has worked with historical manuscripts to look at the role of the horse in medieval literature and other writings.
