In entirety I Lienhart Sollinger, willingly agree to teach about battle which I vow to uphold and to honor the Art and the instruction of princes and lords, knights and squires according to the exhibition of battle to teach them with spear, sword, mace and dagger in saddle and in field, never instructing father against his brother against each other, no disobedient servants against their lords, no unbelievers, nor anyone against widows. None of these shall I teach. Ever will I represent my master in loyalty and honor according to the rights of battle. No one will teach and demonstrate such honorable art with distinction in distress. All of this is plain and without ulterior motives so please help me God.
