HERE FOLLOW SEVEN RULES WITH THE DAGGER

FIRST

If someone thrusts at you from above down at your face or chest, then move your left arm forward and grab hold with your left hand from the inside onto the outside of his right arm and press him hard against your left side and thrust him with the dagger in the face.

SECOND RULE

If your opponent seems to be thrusting at your face but feints and tries to thrust you in the side, you catch the thrust with the left arm and move up the left hand over the opponent's right hand and hold it to your chest firmly and thrust the him in the face.

THIRD RULE

If the opponent is holding his dagger with the thumb on the parrying disc, and thrusts at your face from above, you reach up with the left hand inside of his right arm and grab hold on the outside of his right hand, that he is holding the dagger with, and lock in under your left armpit, and then you stab him in the torso.

FOURTH RULE

If the opponent is holding his dagger with the thumb on the parrying disc, and tries to thrust you in the groin or side, then move your left hand down and thrust him with the dagger under his right hand, lift up with the right hand and hold it to your chest as you turn to your right.

FIFTH RULE

If the opponent is holding the dagger with his little finger on the parrying disc, and thrusts at you from above, then grab your dagger in the same way and meet his thrust with a thrust from your left side and move the dagger over his right hand. Then you grab hold of the blade of your dagger with the left hand and press your arm hard against his arm, as you pull him to the ground as hard as you can. This is a technique that is ignored by many.

SIXTH RULE

When the opponent has drawn his dagger, and you have not, however, and he tries to thrust at you from above, then raise your right arm and grab hold of his right wrist with your right hand, and reach with your left hand from below over your opponent's right elbow, and pull his left arm over your left arm, and you will throw him over.

SEVENTH AND LAST RULE

If your opponent has drawn his dagger before you, and tries to thrust at you from above, then parry the thrust with the left arm, and reach with it over his right arm and hold it firmly in your left side. Then if you move to the right away from your opponent, you will break his arm. If you want to throw him backwards, you step to the left with your right foot and insert the right hand under his right arm and throw him over your hip.
