Template:Season needed/doc

Usage

This template functions as an in-line request for the specific citation of a season/series and episode number of a television or radio series.

This tag will categorize tagged articles into Category:Articles with unsourced statements (and in the future, possibly a more specific subcategory) but not this template itself. Do not use this tag in order to label statements which you suspect to be false. Instead, move those statements to the discussion page and ask for evidence.

This template is a self-reference and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopedic content.

Typical usage:

(In this example it is essentially flagging the fact that season, episode number andairdate are all missing, by including them as empty parameters that need filling; i.e., this example assumes that the original editor's citation omitted all of this information. Because of peculiarities of the {{Cite episode}} template, this tag must go in the empty number= field, else the actual season= field will not display and the {{season needed}} template will not actually appear. In British usage, the season= parameter is replaced with seriesno=.)
