De re militari et de duello ("On Military Affairs and on Dueling") is an Italian treatise on dueling laws and customs written by Paride del Pozzo and published in 1476.

Publication History

De re militari et de duello was printed in Naples in 1476-77 by Sixtus Riessinger. Several more editions were printed in Venice thereafter, including in 1518, 1521, 1523, 1540, and 1544.

Also in 1544, it was translated into Spanish and published in Seville, Spain under the title Libro llamado batalla de dos ("Book Called Battle of Two"). In 1580, it was translated into English by Thomas Bedingfield and published under the title Questions of Honor and Arms.

Pozzo's work was also used by Achille Marozzo as the basis of his own treatise on dueling, published as book 5 of his 1536 treatise Opera nova.
