De la Filosofia de las Armas y de su Destreza y la Aggression y Defensa Cristiana ("On the Philosophy of Arms and its Skill, and Christian Offense and Defense") is a Spanish fencing manual written by Jerónimo Sánchez de Carranza and initially printed in 1569. Carranza's treatise presented a new system of rapier fencing based on geometry which he called la Verdadera Destreza ("The True Skill").

Publication History

Although - according to the preface - completed as early as 1569 De la Filosofia de las Armas y de su Destreza y la Aggression y Defensa Cristiana was first printed in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in 1582. Printing was renewed in 1612 by Carranza's student Luis Pacheco de Narváez in Madrid, Spain.
