Usage

This meta-template is used as a core to build inline citation templates.

Parameters

  • P1, P2, P3, P4, P5: Up to four authors and date
  • REF: ID for anchor. By default, an anchor is always generated from the authors and date. The ordinary nonempty value |ref=ID generates an anchor with the given ID; such a linkable reference can be made the target of wikilinks to full references, especially useful in short citations like shortened notes and parenthetical referencing. The special value |ref=harv generates an anchor suitable for the {{harv}} template; see anchors for Harvard referencing templates.
  • Page: Page number
  • PageSep: Separator before page number
  • Pages: Page range
  • PagesSep: Separator before page range
  • Location: Other locations in the source
  • BracketLeft: Left bracket enclosing the inline citation
  • BracketRight: Right bracket enclosing the inline citation
  • BracketYearLeft: Left bracket enclosing the year
  • BracketYearRight: Right bracket enclosing the year
  • Postscript: Terminating punctuation
