Ιπποκομικη ("The Equestrian") is a German treatise on horsemanship written in 1570 by Johann Fayser, based on the 1550 treatise of Federico Grisone. He indicates that Grisone was too convoluted and verbose in his writings, and so rather than offering a straight translation, Fayser wanted to write an untangled and clarified version, reorganized into six chapters. He also added 88 illustrations created by Jost Amman (on top of the single illustration supplied by Grisone), and a seventh chapter on mounted fencing.
