Compendio di Scherma ("Fencing Compendium", Codex 256), is an Italian fencing manual written in between 1679 and 1681 by Gerolamo Giovanni Battista Christiani.[1] The original currently rests in the holdings of the Biblioteca Trivulziana in Milan, Italy. Christiani's treatise is dedicated to Giuseppe Maria Visconti, Marquis of Sant'Alessandro and Seigneur of Ossona, and covers the use of the rapier.
