What is necessary to know about Wrestling
Note that in all wrestling there are three things one must pay great attention to: the first is the art itself, the second speed, and the third is how to use your strength at the right place and time. But by far speed is the best, since speed allows for no countermoves. Apart from that you must know that you can wrestle however you wish with those who are weak(er than you), and if you are weaker than your opponent, you must carefully watch after your opponent's weak spots. Furthermore, if you are weaker than your opponent you must also be fast, and take heed to (catch) his knees, and if you are equally matched you must use the scales.
Wrestling while holding at each others' arms
When you wish to wrestle your opponent by holding his arms, always remember to hold him at the muscle(probably the biceps) of his right arm with your left hand, and with your right hand on the outside of his left, and the left hand that holds his muscle, push him backwards forcefully, and with your right hand grab hold in front of his left hand pull it towards you, and when you have someone in this grip, then use the wrestling techniques written hereafter.
The first grip
When you have him in this grip thus, then put your left hand on his right arm grab hold of him underneath his right hand, where you hold his left hand. Push his arm away from you, and it will be dislocated.
The second
Push up your opponent's left arm with your right hand, and go through with your head underneath it. Then quickly put it over the back of your neck and with your right hand grab hold of the back of his knee, and throw him behind your back.
Another
Another technique from the arm hold. Raise your opponent's left arm with your right hand, with your left hand grab hold under his (right?) elbow, and pull him towards you, and with the right hand above push away from you, and step behind his right foot with your left and throw him over your left leg.
Another grip
Another technique out of the first hold: hold firmly with your right hand on your opponent's left, and put your left hand on your right for support and hold steady with both hands. Then, if you turn around to your right under his arm, you have him captured.
Counter
If someone goes through you, then go through with him, and use whatever wrestling device you wish.
Another counter technique
Hold his left hand as hard as you can with both your hands, and turn around to your left in under his arm. That way you will put a stop to his device, and you may also throw him and as well as dislocate his arm.
Another counter technique
Hold the left hand of your opponent firmly with both hands and turn to your left in under his arm. Then, put his left arm over your right shoulder and pull down.
Another wrestling device
If someone holds you by the arms, and you hold him likewise, and he then has a loose grip, then strike loose his left hand loose with your right hand from above, and then grab outside of his left arm(?) in the back of his knee and with your left hand push him in the left side of his chest, then he will fall.
Counter to the above
If someone grabs you up front in the chest with his left hand, then grab his left hand with your left hand and turn around, and with your right hand lock his left elbow.
Or, if you rather, thrust his left elbow upwards with your right hand and turn him thus away from you.
A device with moving your hand underneath his elbow and the counter to it
When someone has taken hold of your left hand with his right and is about to move his left hand under your elbow in order to lock it, or, he wants use his right hand for support and turn in underneath it, when he moves his left hand towards his right for support, or towards the elbow, then move your right hand over his left on his right side and take hold of his rib, step behind his left foot with your right and throw him from your left foot over your left leg.
When someone grabs your arm forcefully
When someone takes hold of your arm, and holds it hard, so that you cannot do anything, then move your right arm outside over his left arm near by his hand and grab hold with your left on your right, and press down his hand with both your hands firmly to your chest.
Pay attention to your opponent's fingers
If your opponent extends his fingers on the hand that you have pressed to your chest, then grip them with your left hand. Then heave him upwards to your left, and with your right hand lock him by the elbow.
If he holds his hand on your chest
If he holds the hand on your chest, then step behind with left foot with your right and grab with your left hand at the back of his left knee and lift up, and with your right hand push him away from you, then he will fall.
Another good wrestling technique
If your opponent holds you loosely in your arms when you wrestle him, then grab with your left hand above his right and grab hold of his left hand by his fingers or otherwise. Then, if you lift up on your left side, you can lock his left elbow with your right hand.
Counter to the afore mentioned technique
If someone uses the above mentioned technique, that is, grabbing you by the fingers with his left hand and wants to lock your elbow with his right, then move your right hand under his left arm and grab him in the ribs, step forward with your right leg and throw him over.
An even better counter to his elbow lock
When the opponent has grabbed you with his left hand on your left, and wants to lock your left elbow with his right hand, then lower yourself and thrust your left elbow into his ribs, and step with your left foot behind his right, grab hold of the back his right knee and pull it towards you, push away from you above with your left hand, and he will fall.
Another
If someone grabs your left hand with his left, locks elbow with his right hand, and thrust the elbow high up, then at once go with your head in under it, and put your right arm in his left ribs, step behind his right foot with your right foot and throw him over your right hip.
Another wrestling technique
When you both hold each other by the arms, and you find that he is loose in his grip, then strike his right hand loose with your left from above and down, and reach around his right side, grab hold of him from behind, and hold him fast and pull him towards you, and with your right hand grab hold outside of back of his right knee. Thus you will throw him to your left. This technique can be done on both sides.
Body grab-wrestling
When someone holds you, so that you both have one hand under his arm and the other above, and one of you pulls the other towards him, then you may use your lower hand to grab behind his back, lock him and throw him with the techniques described here next.
One other technique
If you have gripped someone by the arms as above, and the other is strong and presses you hard towards him, then put your elbow on his throat, and press hard. Do that with the upper hand, and he has to let go of you.
Another version
If someone holds you under your arms and squeezes so hard that it hurts, then counter that as follows: press with both your thumbs in his eyes, under his chin, or in his throat, and he has to let go of you.
Another
If someone grapples with you as mentioned above, then put your upper arm under his chin on his neck, and push him away from you as hard you can, and with the other hand, grab his leg by the back of his knee, and pull towards you, then he will fall.
Note
If anyone wishes to counter that move, and go for an elbow lock, then lower that elbow and thrust it into his side and with the other hand grab his leg in the knee, and throw him.
Another body-hold technique
If someone holds you in above mentioned matter, but in a loose grip, without pressing hard, then put your lower hand on the other side and grab his knee from outside and lift. Then, place your upper hand on his neck, and push him away from you, and he will fall.
Another wrestling technique
When someone puts his right hand through your legs and grabs you in the back by the jacket(?), then bend down against him as he does so, and go in from the outside under his right arm and lift, that way he cannot throw you.
Another
If someone grabs you by the hand and tries to lift it with both of his hands, and holds your left hand and wants to pull you over on his right side, then let your right hand go through over his left arm on his right side and grab him in ribs, and with your left hand grab his knee.
Another
If someone has grabbed you with both hands on your chest, then move your right hand over his left and force it. Then with your left hand on his right elbow, bar him with the left foot(?).
Counter to armbars(?)
If someone wants to bar you with his right hand, then bar him with the left.
Another wrestling technique
Strike out with both hands, stoop down and grab behind both his knees, and pull towards you and at the same time thrust your head into his chest, then he falls.
Counter
Grab your opponent by the neck under his arm, and lay your weight on top of him. Then, step back with both feet, so that he cannot reach them, and you will press him down to the ground.
Another wrestling technique
If the opponent steps forward with his right foot, then pull him with by the right hand with your left hand and sweep his right ankle with your left foot, and pull him down,
or grab him by the throat with your right hand and push him on his back.
Another wrestling technique
If some holds you loosely by your arms, then grab with your left hand on his right hand by the fingers and hold firmly, strike loose your right hand and move it under his arm and grab him by the ribs and with the left on the back of his knee.
Another wrestling device
If someone grabs you by the waist from behind, then lower yourself, and when he wants to lift you up then turn around underneath him and throw him over.
Another wrestling technique
Move your right hand through and strike him over the hip in his abdomen, and move your left hand over his right shoulder, and strike him with your right hand in the wrist, hold it firmly, and lift. Then, lift up his left knee with your right and throw him before you.
Yet another technique
Grab hold of his right hand with both hands and pull him to your right side, step with your right foot behind his right and put your right arm on his left side and throw him over your right hip.
And another
If someone wants to go under your arms with both of his, then move your arms on the outside over his elbow and close the arm under his below his elbow. Then, lift up and break his arm.
You can also grab him in the neck and push him backwards
Another technique
If you have your arms under his, then you can grab him by the throat or chin, and break his neck backwards, but you must move your arms well under his arms.
Another technique
If you have the left arm underneath, then put the right hand on his throat, step behind his right foot behind his right, and push him over by the neck, then he must fall,
or throw him over your foot on any side.
