Total beginner in HEMA Longsword, at present the German school, as that is what is taught at the nearest school to me in Birmingham UK. Martial arts experience consists of 10 years Goju Ryu karate. Looking to find out more about HEMA, now that I have established it is a practical martial art, rather than a lot of dress up. I have a nasty feeling I have just fallen down a very, very deep rabbit hole, that is going to require several years of study to even come close to breaking the surface. Hopefully this is a good place to start.
