Nicholas began studying historical European Martial Arts in 2015, focusing on the tradition of Johannes Liechtenauer. He trains and occasionally teaches at Maryland KDF, and has competed in local/regional tournaments in the mid-Atlantic area in Longsword, Ringen, Messer and paired Technique. He is a somewhat regular rider, and has studied Rossfechten independently.
