I am a master of history student at the University of Vienna and have been involved with HEMA for around eight years now in practical terms. I originally started with Ottawa Classical Swordplay (long before they were known as that) and then later joined the Academy for Medieval Martial Arts in Toronto when I moved there for my bachelor. Currently I am studying in Austria and am part of Wolfe zu Dunkelstein, a local HEMA group studying the late medieval German tradition of fencing.
My interest lies in translating and interpreting the German and Latin material of the early modern and modern German school. I am specifically focused on the translation and interpretation of the German rapier and then later smallsword tradition which is still largely untranslated and unstudied in comparison to the material on longsword.
