The Cod. Ⅰ.6.2º.2 is a compilation of two German fencing manuals bound together by Paulus Hector Mair some time after 1564.[1] The original currently rests in the holdings of the Universitätsbibliothek Augsburg in Augsburg, Germany. The first half of the manuscript is a treatise written by Jörg Wilhalm Hutter in 1523.[2] It seems to be another redaction of the teachings of Johannes Liechtenauer, but unlike the glosses of the previous century, Hutter's work is fully illustrated. The second half is a much later work by Lienhart Sollinger dated to 1564.[3] Sollinger's manuscript is a mostly-compete hand-written copy of Andre Paurenfeyndt's printed book Ergrundung Ritterlicher Kunst der Fechterey, with additional content from the Goliath Fechtbuch (1535-40).

The present confused sequence of this manuscript is the result of the pages being shuffled at some point, presumably when Mair bound it together. All of this content is reorganized into its proper order on the respective master pages.
