Little is known about this master's life, but he was been Bolognese by birth and seems to have been an initiate of the tradition of Filippo di Bartolomeo Dardi. A fencing manual by d'Alessandri, titled Il Cavalier Compito ("The Complete Cavalier") and dedicated to a certain Guiseppe Cesari d'Arpino, was published in Viterbo in 1609.
