Jean Daniel L'Ange was a 17th century French Freifechter. He seems to have served as fencing master to both the Electoral Palatinate court at Castle Heidelberg and the University of Heidelberg.[1] In 1664, L'Ange published a fencing manual entitled Deutliche und grůndliche Erklårung der Adelichen und Ritterlichen freyen Fecht-Kunst ("A Clear and Thorough Explanation of the Noble, Chivalric, and Free Art of Fencing"), a relatively brief illustrated rapier manual seems to be based on the earlier work of fellow Freifechter Sebastian Heußler.
