Girolamo Cavalcabo (Hieronyme Calvacabo, Hieronimo Cavalcabo) was a 16th century Italian fencing master. He was a citizen of Bologna and may have trained fencing under Angelo Viggiani dal Montone;[1] he seems to have traveled to London in the 1580s or 1590s and set up a school.[citation needed] During this period he also wrote a treatise on the use of the rapier entitled Nobilissimo discorso intorno il schermo ("Most Noble Discourse on Defense"), though it would not be published until 1597.
