Christoff Rösener was a 16th century German Marxbrüder and certified Master of the Long Sword. In 1579, he authored a treatise on fencing entitled Ehren Tittel und Lobspruch der Ritterlichen Freyen Kunst der fechter ("Record of Honor and Words of Praise for the Chivalric, Free Art of the Fencer"), which offered a history of the art of fencing and the Marxbrüder guild, as well as advice to students of the art.
